IMBIOSCIENCES RESEARCH INSTITUTE

On the 04^th of October 2024, a very productive workshop was held at Gelvandale High School in Gqeberha, to introduce grade 10 learners to IMBRI’s Science Engagement program. The workshop was aimed at informing and motivating learners to enrol in the program, as well as to spark interest in STEM-type career paths. The workshop was interactive and exposed learners to molecular biology techniques. Using common household items, learners were taught how to extract DNA from saliva; followed by a short demonstration of how to prepare various biological specimens for viewing under a microscope.
